Apprenticeship programme not landing? We'll find out why and make a plan to fix.
Apprenticeships genuinely work. Done right, they're one of the best ways to build the people your business needs
BUT... plenty of apprenticeship programmes look fine on paper but just don't quite deliver. Engagement's patchy, managers aren't really behind it, the provider relationship has gone quiet, the numbers aren't what anyone hoped. Before too long Apprenticeships have been sidelined and resemble that exercise bike you bought in January, that's now a clothes horse.Rarely one big obvious failure. Usually a handful of small things, none of them anyone's fault.
If that's where your programme is, I'd like to help
How it works...
The hard part isn't fixing it but knowing what to fix, and that's really tricky to see clearly from the inside.
So that's what I do. I come in, diagnose exactly what's holding the programme back, and hand you a clear, honest picture of it, plus a costed plan to put it right.
What the diagnostic involves
A structured review of your programme, not a poke around. It covers:
People team interviews — understanding how the programme's meant to work and where it's straining.
Up to 6 manager and stakeholder interviews. The people whose buy-in makes or breaks.
Up to 6 learner conversations. and where useful, shadowing — because the apprentices see things no report does.
Reporting and data analysis. What the numbers are actually telling us, including leaver analysis.
Provider performance review. An honest look at whether the provider is pulling their weight.
Collateral review. Induction material, the manager guidance, the programme's stated 'why'.
What you get
A written diagnostic report. No jargon, no padding. It tells you plainly: what's working, what isn't, why, and it comes with clear recommendations to fix. Then it's yours. You can take the plan and run it in house. The report is written so you can. Or, if you'd like a hand, fixing it together is a separate conversation we can have. No pressure either way and my aim is to produce something you can use without me.
Investment = £5,000
Fixed scope, fixed fee. You'll know exactly what's wrong with the programme, and exactly what it'll take to fix it.
Why me?
I've spent 9 years at two tip-top apprenticeship training providers, helping well over 100 employers set up and run their programmes — which means I've seen most of the ways they come unstuck, and most of the ways they get put right.I've been on the provider side of the table; now I work purely for the employer.
This isn't the first time I've done this work, just the first time as an independent, which is why I'm taking on a small number of founding clients at a lower price right now. You'll be helping me launch my venture as a solo business operator and be crazy motivated to make you a case study in how we can turn a programme around.
I want to provide real value. Not be one of the consultants who charges £26,000 and 3 nights in the Ritz for a 'strategic Powerpoint deck'I'll lead with honesty and work closely with your team to produce something we can be genuinely proud of.
